Description

Join us for a run under the stars at the Kentucky State Police Training Academy on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 7:30 pm.

The Run to Remember is a 5k fundraiser that pays tribute to the Kentucky State Police's fallen units that have made the ultimate sacrifice. The Kentucky

State Police Foundation is undertaking the largest capital project in its history, which will positively impact officer safety. In 2016, Kentucky State Police determined the need for a 400ft by 600ft Driver Training Skills Pad to conduct driver training and low-speed vehicle techniques. KSP currently uses other agencies' facilities, some located out of state. We are raising funds to build a dedicated Driver Skills Pad on the KSP Academy grounds. This facility will be used in day-to-day in-service training, cadet vehicle training, and mandated vehicle driving training. Currently, 47 percent of all KSP line-of-duty deaths have stemmed from vehicle-related collisions. This driver skills pad allows KSP to enhance training to reduce the number of vehicle fatalities/injuries by sworn personnel. Please help us fund this project and meet a critical need!

Packet Pickup

Race Day packet pickup will be from 5 pm to 7:30 pm on the night of the event at the KSP Training Academy.

Registration

Registration is $30 through August 1, 2024, and will increase to $35 from August 2, 2024, through race day. All runners registering before August 6, 2024, will receive a special race t-shirt. Due to printing deadlines, t-shirts will not be available to runners after the deadline.

Online registration will remain open until the start time of the event. Registering on your phone is quick and easy. Cash registrations will also be taken on race day.

Can't make it to the in-person event? No problem! For 2024, we have added a "Virtual" option. Participate from anywhere worldwide by running or walking your 5k at your own pace and location. 35.00 will cover the entry fee and shipping of your shirt, race bib, and medal.

Overall Male and Female winners for the 24-hour run will receive PRIZE MONEY based on the miles they ran!! For example, if you win by running 110 miles, you will receive $110!

In addition to finisher medals, participants will receive small prizes when they reach 50k, 50 mile, 100k and 100 mile distances.

Packet pickup will be available on September 20 from 8:00-5:00 CST at the MuuvWell HQ located at 939 Adams St. in Bowling Green, KY (Connect to "The Venue). Packet pickup will also occur on race day from 6:30-7:30 AM at the starting line at the Bowling Green Ballpark.

We fully expect this year's race to sell out! Please be sure to sign up early so you can secure a spot!

The race takes place at the Bowling Green Hot Rods Baseball Park on Saturday, September 21, 2023. Runners have up to 24 hours to cover as many loops as they can on this .31-mile course (yep, just 3/10th of a mile) that follows the perimeter of the concourse inside the baseball park. Special activities will keep runners entertained through the night. Expect a fun party atmosphere that will help the time and the laps go by.

Runners are allowed to sleep, eat, leave, and come back, and even flat-out stop running whenever they want to. Due to the rules and structure of this type of run, it simply tests one thing: How far can you push yourself, and how far can you run?

Not up for the challenge by yourself? No worries, grab three friends and tackle the 24 hours together. The only requirement is someone must be running the loop at all times!

Runner's Swag

A Unique Hot Rod Ultra Race T-shirt

A Custom Finisher's Medal

Don’t miss the super unique event!

A Hot Rod 24 Hour Ultra awards plaque will be given to the top runner based on laps completed in the 24 hour, 24 Relay, and 12 Hour events!

Relay

The following are the rules for relay teams:

Relay teams are comprised of 4 people. There is no gender requirement. They can be mixed or of the same gender. Regardless of the team make up all relay teams compete against each other.

Each runner must run at least one lap every 6 hours. The only exception to this is if a runner gets injured.

No pacing of relay runners is allowed (the only exception is if the entire team wishes to go on a lap together for their final loop)

Place

This will take you to the main gate. Continue on that road until it ends in the parking lot of the dining hall. It is a couple of miles, so trust us when we say it ends in the parking lot. :)

Description

Welcome to the Crooked Creek Ultra, an exhilarating trail race set in the heart of Bourbon Country at the picturesque Camp Crooked Creek inside the Harry S. Frazier Scout Reservation. This challenging 12.7-mile loop, boasting over 2,300 feet of elevation gain per lap, promises runners an unforgettable experience through 1,000 acres of rolling hills adorned with a hardwood forest of oak, hickory, and beech trees. As you traverse the course, take in the breathtaking natural views and keep an eye out for the abundant wildlife that calls this scenic landscape home.

The 2024 Crooked Creek Trail Weekend will be on Saturday, December 7th, and Sunday, December 8th. The dates are a little later than normal due to the Thanksgiving Weekend being so late.

The race kicks off and concludes at the start-finish line, nestled near the 70-acre John Barr Lake. The lake provides a serene backdrop to the runner's village, creating a perfect setting for both the starting adrenaline rush and the triumphant finish line celebrations. This legendary trail, typically off-limits to the public, becomes accessible exclusively during the Crooked Creek event.

Choose your challenge from options including the daunting 100 miles (with a 32-hour cutoff), the demanding 50 miles (with a 16-hour cutoff), or opt for the marathon and half marathon distances. For those seeking a taste of the Crooked Creek experience, we also present a special 5K Trail Challenge—a fun and challenging run that offers a sneak peek into the larger race.

The Start/Finish line provides a spacious area for runners to set up their support tents, and participants in the 100-mile and 50-mile challenges can look forward to a unique "Pit Road" experience. This exclusive access point allows your support team to connect with you at the start-finish line and again at the three-mile mark of each loop. To add to the runner's comfort, heated shower houses will be available, ensuring a refreshing post-race experience after conquering the demanding "Crooked Creek Crusher" course.

Conveniently located just 15 minutes from the Louisville International Airport and off Interstate 65 in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, the Crooked Creek Ultra offers an excellent option for runners looking to check a Kentucky event off their list. With multiple lodging options within a 10-minute radius and the availability of (unheated) cabins at Camp Crooked Creek, participants can plan a comfortable stay. For those seeking a more rustic experience, primitive camping options are also available, complete with access to heated bathrooms and the shower house.

As a token of our appreciation for their service, Active Duty Military personnel are eligible for a 15% discount on registration. Simply reach out to us at info@ckracemanagement.com for the exclusive code.

Join us for an unforgettable race experience, where challenging trails, scenic views, and the sweet aroma of Bourbon Country converge at the Crooked Creek Ultra. Get ready to embrace the challenge, and become part of this legendary event!

NEW Trail Race Series coming in hot!

When you think of Kentucky Cryptids, particularly in the Louisville area, what is one of the most well known….GOATMAN! The Goatman is a cryptid who is said to be half-man, half-goat. Although his origins are unknown, the most popular origin story is that he had once been a scientist who worked at Beltsville Agriculture Research Center in Maryland, who experimented on goats. Unfortunately, during one of these experiments, he was mutated into a goat/human hybrid, and went insane. The Kentucky Goatman has a similar origin story who is said to have been a goat farmer who sold his soul to Satan in exchange for immortality or dark magic. As many stories have been told, the Kentucky Goatman lures his victims to the trestle bridge near Pope Lick often just before a train crosses the bridge leaving his victims 90 feet up on a 700 foot long bridge.*

*Please never trespass on the bridge in search of Goatman. Multiple untimely deaths as well as heavy fines and penalties for those who venture too far.
