9. Coaches of Louisville: Kenny Stottman

For this episode of Coaches of Louisville we have Kenny Stottman. Kenny is the coach at both St. Edwards and Derby City Athletic Club where he coaches at the elementary and middle school levels. Kenny got involved in cross country in high school at Trinity High School and was coached by Coach Rostel. Coach Rostel had a major influence on Kenny's life and coaching philosophy. Coaching elementary and middle school requires a different approach from the high school level. Kenny believes it is important to understand cross country might not be everyone's main sport. This realization caused him to be flexible and work with kids who are involved in multiple extracurriculars. Whether athletes are full-time or part-time cross country athletes Kenny makes sure each athlete feels cared about and they have a great time. For both St. Edwards and DCAC Kenny works tirelessly to create a fun environment for the kids. His goal is to influence his athletes in a positive way. We hope you enjoy this interview as much as we do.
